Penpals Writing Club is a literacy and communication programme for all age groups, with special focus on children 6-12 years old. There are two components: The Group Sessions (Background Building Workshops) uniquely fuse world culture and general knowledge topics to get children exposed, while stimulating their critical thinking abilities and communication skills. The Personalised Sessions (one-on-one) zero in on the individual needs of a child to ensure literacy success. Founder and Chief Facilitator, La-Toya Samuels-Cousins, is a qualified communicator, published writer, and editor. She is a certified Language Intervention Programme (LIP) Tutor, trained in Special Education and Reading Instruction. Most importantly, though, she is a mother. The passion for youth and literacy fuels the mission to assist young ones in improving their creative skills and successfully publishing their work.
To become a leader in impacting the literacy and creative success of Caribbean youth.
